Meet the Aroha Fleet

As ‘Aroha’ suggests, we love helicopters!

We see them each member of our fleet as unique individuals in their own right, with each helicopter being different from the others. Our helicopters have their own names, to give them further individualism and to set them apart.
We love our helicopters and we hope you will too!

We’ve named our helicopter ‘Piwakawaka’, taking inspiration from Barry Brailsford’s description of the Piwakawaka in his ‘Wisdom of the Four Winds’:

Piwakawaka is the Sky Dancer within the forest. Flitting to and fro, shifting and turning in a moment, swooping close and spiralling away, it brings joy to the day. Fantail is laughter in motion. When we move through the forest, Fantail gathers close to travel with us. This companionship is filled with good purpose for it knows our passing will disturb insects to be hunted along the way.

The Cabri is the world’s premier single piston engine, two seat helicopter. Designed for training and private pilots, this helicopter perfectly suits New Zealand’s conditions. Our pilots love the Cabri for numerous reasons; from the reduced pilot work load and manoeuvrability to the ease it provides when teaching new pilots.
